The Resonnace of Taste

I'm hearing about everything. What people hate, what they love, what makes no impact on them. Well, have you ever had an omelet with cream cheese and garlic filling...? It is amazing. I don't think I can ever eat another omelet again... My friend Sarah who was once a chef in a restaurant is now a teacher (long story). She spent time at a lake house with my wife, my son, her husband and me.

She calls her omelet " the house special" and it is to die for. The cream cheese with the eggs yolks and salt all grilled in a skillet will literally kill you. You will die with a smile on your face but you'll kick that bucket hard!

The health plan is also killing people. Political conservatives hate it. Liberals love it (I've been told because they have their heads up their asses and haven't grown up yet), impartials don't give a shit and the homeless just want your excess change.

I think I know why as a boy I didn't like politics nor did I talk about them. I don't understand them now, but I have plenty of people who say that they do and tell me all of the time what I should be thinking.

I don't think I want my parents to be pushed aside if the government tells me that they are not worth a possible life saving operation. I think that makes me a conservative... but I also don't think that people who trade money and lose peoples' money are honorable Americans either... so am I a liberal?

Who cares what anyone is anyway? Shouldn't we care about this country and how it is doing? Shouldn't we all want the best for the United States? I thought so. I think so.. yes we should.

I was told a few days ago that conservatives want to see people pull themselves up from their bootstraps and make it. Where liberals want to give hand outs to keep the status quot. I thought about this a bit. I pondered the weight of this statement. Yes, I guess there can be some truth to this...? But why then when I meet conservatives do I want to decapitate them when they speak. I may love the person, but then I hear their rhetoric and I have to swallow the vomit in my mouth.

On the other hand, liberals just seem to want to give people who seek better lives for themselves and their families the chance to do so. Liberals do become drippy gooey messes of self-righteousness and preachiness yet they don't give as much to charity I am told.

Hmmmm.... Taste....taste. It all seems bitter to me. I do not read enough because all media is tainted although I'm told by conservatives that FOX news (not channel 5 the other one) tells it the closest to reality as it is. Tee-hee! That's cute. Then I'm told by both conservatives and liberals why the other is incorrect and dangerous. But then there's the vomit in my mouth with the conservs make me feel, Hmmmmm - taste....hmmmmmm.

Maybe... maybe I feel more for the poor illegals, or the down on his or her luck people because that's who I am. I don't always make the right choices and I suffer due to them. Does that make me a bad person? I love to spend money on things that make me happy.... Yes I said THINGS. Things like a movie ticket, or comic book, CD or my all time favorite, a new DVD (it's my addiction of choice). Does that make me a bad person? I don't think so. No, no it doesn't.

I don't enjoy these "things" lately anymore as I am unemployed and my wife supports our family (my 6 month old so and I). See what I mean. I have a lot in common with the class of people that are not considered "go getters". If you don't make something of yourself, the conservs think you should... even if you can't. Just make yourself a success. I've noticed most conservs say that. Just make money.

The liberals, well, just want you to make a go at things that you can. If you can, if not, they'll cry for you.

As I was saying, I know what interests me, and what brings me joy. I think that is all that matters. Yes there should be enough health care for all people no matter the class level. Should the government dictate it, I'd say no, because the govt doesn't know my Mom and Dad. They are great people who raised me. And I am not ready to give them up if perhaps one day they need an operation that is $50k and the socialized health care says they aren't worth it, heads will roll. And I don't mean figuratively.

Taste - well some like hot dogs and pizza and some like sushi and chai tea. If it works for you, then that's a great thing. If I had the garlic and cream cheese omelet every day it just wouldn't be special when I did have it, now would it? I'd also be dead, so maybe a nice balance is in order.

I fear that this country may be headed for even darker times, before the sun rises again. That is bitter yes, but something doesn't seem to taste right.

But really who cares? As long as iphones are affordable it seems that many an American are o.k.

Have a great one!
